Peyton Family Home - Marshall Fire
Donation protected
December 30th was a sunny but very windy Thursday for Scott, Julie and Vivienne. They had just taken family to the airport after Christmas when they received a terrifying call that they had to evacuate immediately from a wildfire being driven towards them by hurricane-force winds. They fled from their home at 1:20 in the afternoon with their dog Bruce, two cats, Cleo and Stella, and nothing else. In less than an hour, their dream home of 16 years and everything they owned was burned to the ground.
Scott and Julie were blessed with an outpouring of love and care immediately after the fire. However, months later, they're still struggling through the insurance settlement process and the daunting challenge of rebuilding their home beside 1,000 other families in the same small community. While insurance will fund part of the expense to rebuild and purchase everything they've lost, much of this cost is falling on them.
While asking for help is difficult for a family who usually takes care of others, the reality of their situation is overwhelming. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated as Scott, Julie and Viv work to put their home and their lives back together.
