Dear Family, Friends & Supporters,

My name is Peyton Lanae Orr, a third-year Strategic Communications Major from Chicago, IL, and I am honored to be running for the title of the 68th Miss Hampton University. My goal is to serve as a voice for the student body by leading with integrity, advocating for progress, and upholding the legacy of excellence that defines Hampton university. The role of Miss Hampton is not merely about wearing a crown, it is about embodying servant leadership and advocating for progress that benefits the entire community. I am eager to give back to the Hampton University community, which has shaped and instilled in me the values of leadership, resilience, and empowerment. As Miss Hampton University, I would be honored to uphold a commitment to unite and uplift both the student body and the Hampton Roads community, advocating for causes that resonate with and impact us all.

My platform, R.O.E: Running On Equality to Raise Opportunities for Everyone, in partnership with my nonprofit, The Noir Project, is founded on the belief that every student deserves respect, representation, and access to opportunities. Through this initiative, I am committed to breaking barriers and creating pathways that empower all students to succeed. As Miss Hampton, I will use my position to work with the administration to partner with student organizations to address issues of inclusivity, implement policies that support marginalized communities, and initiate campus-wide conversations on inclusiveness. Whether it is advocating for accessible education, expanding mental health resources, or ensuring that every student feels valued and heard, I am dedicated to making Hampton University a place where all students can thrive and have a voice.

True leadership is rooted in service. As a student leader, I have cultivated skills in Strategic Communication, Advocacy, and Collaboration, aligning seamlessly with the role of Miss Hampton. I have mentored peers, spearheaded initiatives to enhance student engagement, and fostered inclusive spaces where diverse voices are valued. Through my leadership, I will continue to empower students, strengthen unity, and inspire excellence while upholding the rich legacy of Hampton University.

Miss Hampton University is more than a Title; it is a profound honor, a solemn responsibility, and a commitment to shaping a legacy that will inspire future generations of Hamptonians. With a clear vision, unwavering passion, and a deep dedication to fostering a more inclusive and equitable future. If granted the honor, I am prepared to uphold the values that define our esteemed institution and proudly serve as the next Miss Hampton University.

The total fundraising goal is $4,500, with an initial contribution of $2,500 due by March 31, 2025. The final amount is due by April 5, 2025. Donations are also welcomed via Zelle and Cash App. Please direct message me for further details on these payment methods.
