Help family during fathers terminal illness
Donation protected
My father, Gregory Jones, was diagnosed with stage three non small cell lung cancer in February of this year. It has been the most crushing experience my family has ever been through. We have watched him put up an incredible fight over these last couple months. Whether it was going to radiation five days a week, or the countless biopsies he’s had, multiple blood transfusions he’s needed, the long and grueling days of chemotherapy, my father never gave up. Early last week we found out that my fathers cancer has spread and is now metastatic lung cancer. Treatment is no longer an option and it is now terminal.
My father has been out of work since the end of January. My brother Ryan and myself have taken care of everything my father needs, whether it’s the day to day care he requires or any of the finances. My father has had no income since this started and has depleted his savings. We have yet to get any outside assistance from any agency, the process of some of these things are extremely lengthy and other times we just continually hit dead ends. My brother Ryan works full time, does any side job he can get, takes as much overtime as he can and still comes home and makes sure my dad is taken care of. He has also depleted all of his savings and we have both come together in every way to keep this afloat for as long as possible. I had my son last year and have been on maternity leave and just as I was planning on going back to work part time, my job of six years had suddenly and unexpectedly closed.
We have limited time left with our dad. His entire life has always been dedicated to his children, despite any personal struggles he has ever faced, he always made sure we were taken care of to the best of his ability. We want the same for him. Ryan and myself have done the best we can to keep this going but we are now at a point where we need to ask for some help, regardless of how hard that may be because all of our resources have been exhausted. We want to be able to spend as much time with our father in these next couple weeks without the weight of our financial situation looming over us.
Any and all help is appreciated. We understand that times are tough for many of us right now and many people are struggling in this financial climate. If you can’t donate, please share and if nothing else please keep our family, especially my father, in your prayers.
