Help keep Roots to Grow Child Care open and serving families

My name is Sarah and I am the owner of Roots to Grow Child Care in Waterville, ME.

It was recently discovered that there are lead paint hazards and I have been ordered to have these abated. In order to continue to operate my Child Care business, as well as to even continue to own my home, all lead hazards must be abated ASAP. I have money set aside that I had planned to use toward renovations to my home/business, however the estimated cost of the abatement work is significantly more than I currently have saved. The estimate for completion of this work exceeds $60,000.

My income is too high to qualify for any of the Lead Abatement Programs. I am unable to take out a home equity loan as I have not owned my home long enough to have yet built up any equity. I am continuing to research and apply for all possible loans or other sources of funding to complete this work. In the meantime, it has been suggested to me to reach out and ask the community for support via a Gofundme campaign. In the best interest of my family and my business, I am choosing to set aside my pride and give this a try. I have my children relying on me to provide a stable living, staff relying on me to provide a steady income and families relying on me to provide care for their children so they are able to work to provide for their own families. Any and all donations towards ensuring I can continue supporting all of those people relying on me would be incredibly appreciated.
