Kristin and Phantom need your help

Hi my name is Cassie Moore and while most of you don’t know me, you know Kristin Pitzer. Kristin had a dream to own a bald faced blue eyed colt by Tricked Out Spook. Last year her mare, Rosa, was diagnosed with a cyst in her stifle so Kristin made the decision to pursue that dream of having her carry a foal by Tricked Out Spook. So when Rosa was ready she made the drive to pick up that special box to have her mare inseminated and carry her foal. Kristin waited 363 days and Rosa finally went into labor. Delivery went well and Rosa took to being a mom like a pro. When Kristin saw that beautiful baby tears came to her eyes, just what she had ordered. After a few days his breathing seemed raspy so the vet was called and he was treated for an upper respiratory infection. After a week as his breathing still noisy and raspy, she loaded him and Rosa up and went to the vet where he was put anesthesia to perform a scope. The news was not what she was wanting or expecting to hear. Little Phantom was born with a congenital defect, Choanal atresia. One of his nasal passages did not open and the other is restricted. He will need a CT scan and then surgery, possibly more than one through his life. If you’ve ever bred a mare and waited for that beautiful baby to arrive, it is so exciting and nerve racking. Kristin is now facing life and death decisions for Phantom and given how spunky and full of life he is, she doesn’t want to give up on him. So if you can make even a small donation towards his medical care I know it would mean the world to Kristin and Phantom.

Kristin is not the kind of person to ask for help, she’s a little independent and takes pride in always trying to be prepared when it comes to her horses. But she is facing $3-5k just to get his CT scan and work up done at A&M. She is looking for other options but if you are faced with a rare condition such as this you want the best on your side and Texas A&M is it!
