Donation protected
FARMERS: PLEASE help us by sharing our story & donating so we can assist more farmers. PHARM Dog USA (Pets Helping Agriculture in Rural Missouri) is a program that trains dogs to assist farmers with a disability or a disease that need the help of a four legged farm hand to help them remain active and independent on their farm operations. These dogs are trained to meet the farmer's specific needs. We also can train the dogs to assist a farm family member. PHARM Dog places dogs in other states as well. Our program uses Border Collies for herding purposes and Labradors or Lab mixes saved from shelters or rescues for service work. For more information, check out our website at www.pharmdog.org. PHARM Dog USA is a 501c3 non profit and not affiliated with any other program.
Why are we asking for help? PHARM Dog USA relies on the generousity of folks like you to help with the costs of supplies, medications, vet expenses, shelter, training, and traveling to farm expenses that are needed to fulfill the goals of our program.
About PHARM Dog: Our country relies on our farmers for food, clothing, fuel and so much more. Your contribution to this program is a way to give back to the dedicated men and women who experience a disability or disease and need our help to continue working on their farms to provide for us.
Border Collies assist farmers with livestock, herding, sorting, and making the farmer aware of livestock in near proximity. Our Border Collies usually come from the trainers involved with the program.
Service dogs are trained to retrieve tools, open gates, carry buckets, assists with mobility , companionship, and any other skills a farmer might need to remain independent on their farm. Our service dogs are obtained from shelters or rescues.
Our program is unique as we travel to the farm when it is time to place the dog. This allows us to teach the farmer the proper commands to use with their PHARM Dog. It also assists with the adjustment between the dog, the farmer, and the dog's new surroundings.
