Linda's Loving Memories

On November 3rd, our mother suffered a tragic accident. A daughter and a sister for 71 years, a wife of 52 years, and a mother for 49 years to six children had a fall outback of her home. She hit her head and had to be rushed to the hospital and taken immediately into surgery. They needed to perform a craniotomy on her and place her on a ventilator.
The doctors and nurses poured every effort they could into saving her. The doctor said she was a fighter. Our father replied, if you knew her, you would know the validity of that statement. However, the days turned into a week with no promising signs as the days kept passing by. After a week and a half and several attempts to get responses from her, they performed an EEG and an MRI while we waited with hope.
Unfortunately, the results found no true signs of any meaningful recovery as the injury she sustained was just too severe.
Our father, her husband of 52 years, Thomas had to face the worst possible news alongside her children. Our family had to accept that it was time to say Goodbye to such a sweet, beautiful soul.
On 11/17/2023, she was surrounded by us as she passed away.
Our mother was a magical person in so many ways. She did everything with a smile and she made everything with love. She never wanted to feel like a burden or feel like she was an inconvenience to anyone, EVER.
She managed to take care of the bills from the mortgage to the medication expenses all while living off our Father's retirement pension from the Philadelphia Police Department.
Anyone who knew our Mother, Linda Burke, knew how amazing of a wife, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a friend, a neighbor she was. She will always be remembered as LOVE.
Our mother had a very limited insurance policy and has a mounting pile of medical expenses and our Father is faced with going on without his wife of 52 years. He is faced with trying to give her a beautiful service as she deserves all while trying to afford this tragedy and still pay the household bills.
We turn to her village, as we know it takes a village and she created such a beautiful one. Anything you can do for our Father to help him through this time is greatly respected and appreciated. If you cannot afford to make a donation, we just ask you to simply share this to your social media.
