Support Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Departments
Donation protected
On the evening of Sunday, July 28, 2019, Churchill Plaza, at the intersection of Frankstown Road and Pennoak Drive in Penn Hills, PA caught on fire. The intense blaze was worsened by a gas line explosion, injuring multiple fire fighters. First responders from Penn Hills and several neighboring communities fought the fire into the evening and overnight as it continued to reignite. The fire was put out after a long 12 hour battle.
As of Monday morning, local media is reporting that all six fire fighters have been treated and released from Pittsburgh-area hospitals and thankfully did not sustain serious injuries. Sadly, Churchill Plaza is a total loss. Businesses like Big Shot Bobs House of Wings, Eagles Rental, Cefola’s Cleaners and Don Services are unfortunately destroyed.
This difficult fire demanded many resources from our 100% VOLUNTEER fire departments. With dwindling donations and manpower, our fire departments need donations now more than ever. Please donate what you can to assist our departments, as these brave men and women work tirelessly and fearlessly to protect our community and ask very little in return. Every dollar counts.
All of the money raised will be donated to the different fire departments to be used toward replacing or repairing any equipment that may have been damaged or compromised in the fire, and to fund the day-to-day operations of the departments we are so fortunate to have in our community.
A donation as little as $5 from every follower of This Is Penn Hills would provide a donation of $12,000, or $2,000 to each department. Let’s rally behind our fire departments and give them the support they deserve and show how much we appreciate them! This IS Penn Hills!
Thank you!
