Phil Cookson Memorial Fund

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Thursday, February 29, at 10am at The Church of St. Luke (1980 Hillsdale Rd. El Cajon, CA 92019). There will be a reception at the church following the mass. Following that the burial will be at Miramar National Cemetery at 2pm.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our beloved Aunt Sarab Habib Cookson's loss. Tragically, she lost her husband Phil Cookson in an unfortunate accident on Friday evening, January 26th. Phil was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud to have served his country in the Marine Corp. His family and friends will always remember him by his giving heart and witty sense of humor.

Phil found himself amidst a full "DIY" kitchen remodel when the workers he hired and paid abruptly abandoned the project, leaving it incomplete. Sarab is now left with a non-functioning kitchen.

Without her life partner, Sarab faces considerable challenges in navigating this difficult time. Five years ago, she experienced a debilitating brain aneurysm, leading to her forced retirement from her career as a middle school teacher.

In addition to the emotional toll, Sarab is now confronted with funeral expenses and other associated costs. This, coupled with the unfinished kitchen, compounds the difficulties she is facing. In light of these challenges, we kindly ask for donations to support our cherished Aunt Sarab during this trying time.
