Phil is turning 50!

This July Phil is turning 50! Woohoo!
Phil told me he didn't want a party to celebrate this awesome milestone, as he didn't want to ask his friends and family to fly to sunny Queensland, saying that it would be too expensive. Which is true dammit, but that made me so sad, as I didn't want his birthday to pass us by without a worthy celebration. He is an awesome guy who I love with all my heart, and turning 50 is a big deal!
So I had a think about what we could all do to make this a special birthday, and realized there was something that Phil is incredibly passionate about -motorsport in general, and the Bathurst 1000 in particular.
He loves the Bathurst 1000. Every year he cooks up copious amounts of shitty meat pies and sausages, drinks a few coldies while gluing his eyes to the TV and bum to the couch to soak up the exhaust from afar for 4 days of petrol-headed glory. But what if this year, we find a way to get him a little closer to the action? Right amongst the action, in fact.
Are you ready? Let's get Phil to Bathurst.
If you contribute to this gift, you are getting him:
- 2 tickets to Bathurst 1000 (Thursday 5th Oct- Sunday 8th Oct) General Admission with 2 Paddock Pass tickets, so he can be part of the action down near the pits, valued at $380.
- 4 nights camping (unsure of costs but expecting $400)
- 2 nights motel stays in Goondawindi (approx $400)
- Enough Diesel to get to Bathurst and back again (approx $400)
- Food for 2 people for 7 days round trip (approx $560)
Aiming at a total of: $2,140
Now, I want this to be an EPIC SURPRISE gift - so shush. Do NOT let the cat out of the bag. I have set up this GoFundMe page to receive contributions towards this gift so our bank account doesn't get inundated with mysterious transactions and raise his suspicions!
Note: I have made the gift two adult tickets as it would be nice if he can take a mate or family member. This will NOT be me. I will be at home with the kids for a week of solo parenting (send help).
