Phil Tuminelli Medical bill support

Would you please consider helping our friend, Phil Tuminelli, as he faces the fight of his life?

A kind, independent, upbeat, loyal and loving husband and father of 2 college age daughters, Phil has been dealt many blows over the past 15 years but in June of 2023, the hardest of all was delivered to him, a diagnosis of stage 3 lymphoma. It was while in the hospital recovering from a medically necessitated surgical amputation of his right leg that the cancer was discovered.

Raised by a strong, single mother in Medford MA, Phil was inspired by her determination, work ethic, resilience and self-reliance as she raised him and his 3 siblings. At a very young age, he committed himself to supporting his mother and siblings both financially and emotionally, getting his first job as a teenager at Grossman’s Lumber. Upon graduating from Wentworth, Phil began a successful career as a project manager in the construction arena. It was a career at which he excelled and which he loved and thoroughly enjoyed until chronic knee issues, requiring 20 surgeries and countless medical interventions and hospitalizations over many years, left him disabled and no longer able to work to support his family.

For the past 15 years, pain and a series of potentially lethal infections have racked his body. As a last resort in an attempt to relieve Phil of constant pain, infections, immobility and diminishing health, the decision was made to amputate. It was after this major surgery that the cancer was discovered, stopping the journey back to wellness. The dream of regaining mobility via prosthetics and of returning to employment has been delayed. Now instead of reigniting his career, Phil is undergoing chemotherapy and is wheelchair bound. Proceeding with prosthetics and physical therapy have been put on hold while treatment of the cancer takes precedence.

Phil’s spirit is indominable and positivity and optimism are among his greatest characteristics, but even the strongest mountain can crumble. The financial burdens of uncovered medical expenses over a decade and a half have reached the point where turning to the kindness and generosity of family, friends, and strangers is a necessity as bills exceed tens of thousands of dollars.

If you find yourself in a position to pay it forward and make a contribution to Phil, know that your grace and generosity will change lives and be forever appreciated.
