Philadelphia Firefighter, Fighting Cancer

A Call To Action!
I am reaching out as a part of Bridget's Battalion. We are looking to raise money for a Philadelphia Firefighter, Bridget McCulligan.
Unfortunately, Bridget has been fighting more than fires. She has been fighting cancer since 2016. Enduring two surgeries, radiation, tissue transplants, feeding tubes, tracheostomies and so much more.
Dedicating almost 20 years of service to the Philadelphia community, Bridget worked for 10 years as an EMT before entering the Fire Academy. She's been with the Fire Department for 8 years, currently at Engine 55/Ladder 22. For Bridget helping others isn't only a career it's a calling. A testament to her spirit and perseverance, Bridget continued to work with the department even while battling this disease.
Her first surgery in 2016 removed part of her tongue, replaced with tissue from her arm, followed by radiation treatments. She fought hard and bounced back and returned to work. She was re-diagnosed in Oct ‘22, and had a big surgery in Nov ‘22, removing nearly all her tongue, replaced with tissue from her leg. At a follow up scan in June 2023, they found that the cancer has returned, she's going to need several weeks of chemotherapy and then yet another surgery. Along with this comes hospital stays, doctors’ appointments and much more.
All of this to say, it has had a profound impact on her quality of life. Since she has had to have most of her tongue removed, she has difficulty speaking and eating solid foods. Something as simple as an everyday meal will never be enjoyed the way it once was.
Bridgets partner, Ryanne, is also a Philadelphia firefighter. Ryanne has been by Bridget's side taking care of her throughout all of the surgeries and treatments. As we know in times like this the hospital bills and cost of living continue to grow. After all they've done for us and the community, let's lighten the load for them.
Our girls need us right now! Please help support Bridget's Battalion with our goal of $25,000. Any size donation is appreciated. All donations will go towards hospital and living expenses.
Thank you for your support. It means the world to me and everyone in Bridget's Battalion.
