Mississippi lost one of its greatest last night. It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Philip Allan, a beloved fireman and first aid responder who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. Philip was a dedicated and selfless individual who always put the safety and well-being of others before his own. Doing what he loved by helping others, ultimately cost him his own life.

Throughout his career of 20+ years of service, Philip responded to countless emergencies and risked his own life to save others. He was admired by his colleagues and loved by the community he served. His passion for helping others will never be forgotten. Over the years Philip has served in Simpson & Covington counties.

Sadly, the Allan family is no stranger to tragedy. Our small town was stricken with sadness as his youngest son, Jacob Allan, was killed in a tragic accident several years ago. Jacob, and now his dad, Philip, will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May his brave and noble spirit live on in the memory of those who knew him best.

In honor of Philip's memory, the citizens of Magee, MS, would love to rally together with fellow citizens across the country to show financial support for his widow and his two remaining children. Any and all contributions will be greatly appreciated & will be used to help ease the financial burden in the coming days from their sudden and tragic loss.
