Philip Strong

Hi everyone,

My name is Sally. I am the Aunt of Philip and my brother-in-law and sister are Fernando and Lisa Bueno.

Story:

Monday, August 29th 2022 Lisa and Fernando took Philip to the doctor for changes in his vision and extreme headaches he experienced over the weekend. The doctor ran some tests and with his balance also being off as well, the doctor told them to go to the emergency room at the children’s hospital.

After almost 10 hours of waiting they got back results of testing and an MRI to find out Philip has a large mass in his brain.

Today- Tuesday, August 30th 2022 the neurosurgeon said they want to go in an retrieve some of the tumor. Then, based on what the results of pathology are - they’ll either go in and attempt to remove it all or Philip will need to do chemo and radiation, possibly both. This first surgery will happen tomorrow August 31st.

This news is absolutely shocking and heartbreaking. We are holding on to hope and our faith that our little guy will get through this.

Philip is the most amazing little boy with an adventurous spirit and a heart full of love. If you know Philip through their podcast Storytime with Philip and Mommy you know his tiny little voice and inquisitive and caring nature.

Needless to say, we are devastated and broken.

What you can do to help:

As expected, brain surgery is very expensive. The children’s hospital where Philip is being treated at is almost two hours from their home. This means gas, food, supplies, etc. not to mention Fernando and Lisa not being able to work during this time so they can be full time with Philip.

On average neurosurgery for pediatric patients is $50k. We would love to exceed our goal.

Anything is appreciated.

Just as important as financial help we need prayer. Please pray for Fernando and Lisa as they navigate this dark time. Pray for Philip to be the brave little warrior he is and fight HARD. Pray for the surgeons as they operate, and for wisdom from doctors as they decide next steps. Pray for a miracle.
