Phillips Park Flagpole Installation - Eagle Scout Project

Hello, my name is Grant Lin, and I'm a Life Scout from Troop 131 in Holmdel, NJ. I'm looking to install a flagpole on the lower field of Phillips Park, in Holmdel. Currently, there is no Flagpole when the baseball teams play at Phillips Park, which is not the standard. As a Scout, I think it's appropriate that the people that use the field, as well as the other sporting facilities at the Park have a flag for the National Anthem before every game begins. Specifically, the funds would be used to purchase a 25ft Single - Length Fiberglass Flagpole kit, as well as supporting materials such as sand and concrete needed to correctly and safely install the flagpole.

Who will provide the labor?

This project is a volunteer effort, primarily of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 131.

When will the project be completed?

I aim to finish the project by late April - May.

How will this benefit the community?

As an experienced athlete myself for about five years, a constant of the sporting experience is the American Anthem facing the American Flag. I think it is exceptionally important that Phillips Park should have a proper flagpole, considering it's importance to Holmdel Township and everyone who enjoys the park.
