Phoebe needs a car!
Donation protected
Dear friends and community,
I am hosting this fundraiser for my friend, Phoebe, to help her buy a car so she can remain employed, housed, and safe. Phoebe is a Black trans woman and a gifted chef and is excited about starting her own food business once she can access reliable transportation. The fundraising goal is $7,000 to find her a reliable vehicle that she can use for years to come, and any additional funds raised will go toward securing housing and setting her up for success in her career.
Phoebe is currently staying with me at our farm in rural Ohio, 15 minutes away from the nearest public transportation (such as it is), and she urgently needs a car to get to work so she can keep her job and find housing that is safe and sustainable for her.
This world has proven time and time again that it is not safe or hospitable to Black trans women, and this is especially the case for Phoebe given her experiences so far in Athens, OH. She urgently needs financial support to help her thrive in comfortable housing and a career she loves, but equally crucial is her need to be shown love and support by her community. If you don’t have the means to donate yourself, please don’t overlook this, but share it with your circles as well. She is struggling to stay alive on many fronts, and being shown that she is loved, cared for, uplifted, and supported would change her life.
