Phoebe's 140km walk for Costa Rica Expedition

Hello, my name is Phoebe and I am 15 years old. In the summer of 2024 I will be taking part in a 3 week expedition to Costa Rica with my school. I will be volunteering with local conservation and community projects as well as trekking through the rain and cloud forests. My first two years at secondary school were mainly during the lockdowns, which has made me keen to grasp every opportunity to travel. This will be my first time travelling outside Europe; a real trip of a lifetime. I can't wait to encounter the beauty of Costa Rica and embrace the adventures ahead of me!

But first I need to raise the funds to get there, and I hope that you will be able to help! I have less than a year to raise over £4,000.

Over the next month, I will be walking the 140km route of The Ridgeway, Britain's oldest road, spanning from Avebury in Wiltshire to Ivinghoe Beacon in the Chilterns. I hope to complete this in 6 days; dodging downpours and absorbing the walk's natural beauty.
