Disabled Golf Team- Phoenix Cup 2020- Sarah Larson

Donation protected
It’s an honor to be part of the Phoenix Cup Team USA(golf) Players from around the US will be representing our Country proud for the 25th anniversary of the Phoenix Cup! Each player has their unique story of amputation or “disability” Some are sight impaired, mobility impaired, amputee, seated golfers, or one handed like myself. These team members play with heart, soul and physical pain, but continue to play. I’m honored to be with them in This Ryder cup style which gives us an opportunity to bring the trophy home to the USA!

I ask for your support to help offset the costs as the event is held in Scotland with a triple match event. (September 11-22) This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and time for me to proudly represent the USA, and as the only female on the team I want to show our County and Country proud!!

Many of you may not know my story, I was born missing  left arm above the elbow due to an amniotic band syndrome, and was also was born with a significant type of spina bifida - a tethered spinal cord and a mengingocele which required surgery to correct.   I have always given my all in everything I have always done and because of that I have overused parts of my body.  Previous neck surgery, multiple hand surgery and elbow surgery keep me playing the game of golf and keep me active. NOTHING will stop me from living life to its fullest.  I currently mentor children that have residual limb differences as well to help them understand the chapters of their life that are still awaiting them, while providing them guidance to not let anyone or anything stop them from reaching their goals.  We have hosted two children clinics with the North American One Armed Golfer Association and Never Say Never Foundation to help them understand the game of golf one-handed and the smiles on their faces being able to truly relate to someone else is priceless.

Everyone has their limitations but it's a matter of how you choose to move forward is what sets people apart. My hope is to inspire others throughout my journey  :) I work full-time, attend night school and and a proud mom and  wife. Life truly is what you make it.

I sincerely thank you from the the bottom of my heart for any assistance provided. If you prefer to donate to the team rather than me directly, please see the Team Go Fund me on the link below. Any support will help us achieve this monumental event.
