Phoenix’s Hospital Fund

Hi, my name is Cassie and I’m fundraising for my nine-year-old nephew Phoenix who last December was diagnosed with stage four, high risk neuroblastoma. He has been fighting ever since December going through many treatments including very harsh chemo and now he is about to experience one of the hardest parts of his treatment plan.

 

His oncologist is encouraged that this latest round of chemo got rid of the "spots" of cancer in his chest and back. It shows he's responding well to that type of chemo. On May 23rd the 3 of them will enter Rainbows and stay for 30 days. Phoe will receive intense chemo for 7 days, then the stem-cell transplant. The chemo will make him ill, he'll get sores in his mouth and possibly other areas. He may not be able to swallow or talk. Ultimately though, he has to have this in order to survive this very aggressive cancer. This will give him a 65% chance at survival. The family will then have 45 days at home with no treatment, then they go back to Rainbows for a second stem-cell transplant. They'll be thete another 30 days. Phoenix will have to be very brave as he will know what to expect with the sickness and sores. This second transplant will improve his chances of survival by 10%, for a total of 75%. After this, Phoe will receive antibody therapy which will further increase his chances of survival. He is possibly facing infertility, liver damage and further hearing loss.

 

During this time, the family will have no income at all because they are not allowed to leave the hospital since it causes too much risk for Phoe. We are asking anyone who can to donate any amount to help out this amazing family. The heartbreak they have been experiencing over the last 6 months is intense and through it my brother has still been working full time trying to make enough to support them through this.
