Phonesia Machado-Fore, a life taken too soon
Donation protected
Phonesia Machado went missing on Wednesday after leaving a friend’s home. She was heading to her home in Latta, SC to finish packing so that she could move to Minnesota to be closer to her eldest daughter, Roxie, and her grandchildren. She never made it to her home in Latta and her remains were found on Friday in Dillon County. The investigation is ongoing and the autopsy has yet to be conducted.
In what appears to be a random act of violence, Phonesia was taken from us too soon. The man assumed to be responsible or have connections to her death was later involved in the slaying of a New Mexico State Police officer and is, at present, still at large. While there is an ongoing manhunt to bring this person to justice, the family is struggling to put the pieces back together.
Her family is devastated, searching for answers, and they need your help. Given that this was unexpected, the cost of funeral, travels, and just keeping the lights on while they’re grieving the loss of their beloved mother, grandmother, and so much more, is overwhelming when dealing with so much grief.
Phonesia was a seasoned paramedic, having been a part of the Florence County EMS and dedicated her life in the service of others. She loved her family and her community fiercely, and was known throughout the area as being a force to be reckoned with, but in the best way.
If you have it in your heart to donate, please do. The family, while they are currently at a loss for words, appreciates every ounce of support from friends and family.
Please, if you would like to write a memory or a note to Phonesia’s family, email it so that they can read them when they’re ready, and keep them safe in the future.
