Photoshoot for individuals Down Syndrome
Donation protected
Hello all
My name is Kimberly, and I am a mother to 4 amazing girls. One of my 2-year-old twins has Down Syndrome. As a mother to a child with a disability and other medical complexities, I want to give back to my local community of other Down Syndrome families.
Together with Phillip of Isabel Grace Photography (based out of Austin, TX), we want to offer FREE photo shoots to local families of individuals with Down Syndrome. Shoots will showcase the joy they have brought to their families, focused mainly on the individual, with the family members serving as a "supporting cast."
Isabel Grace Photography has graciously offered their services free of charge for their photography services and the creation of an online gallery. Fundraising will cover travel costs, hotel, car rental, and food for the photographers. This fundraiser is intended to avoid passing any fee on to the deserving families. Raising children with disabilities can put financial constraints on families, and often the option of professional photography may not be manageable nor a priority.
The entire event is tentatively planned for mid-September, pending final scheduling. The inspiration behind this was multi-leveled, stemming from my desire and Phillip's. His daughter is also one of "the Lucky Few" as she also has Down Syndrome. Together, we hope to expand bonds within the Down Syndrome community and gain awareness for Down Syndrome via sharing the experience and the pictures and celebrating the joys they bring into our lives.
Any donation is appreciated. Your support will help make an experience for an individual with Down Syndrome and allow us to celebrate them for the rays of light they are.
