Help Daisy Get Life-Saving Surgery

Dear Friends and Animal Lovers,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My beloved dog, Daisy, has been diagnosed with an intra hepatic shunt*, a serious liver condition that requires immediate surgery. The cost of this life-saving procedure is $10,000, an amount that is beyond my current means. This is on top of what we have already spent.

Daisy is more than just a pet; she is a cherished member of our family. Her playful spirit and loving nature bring joy to everyone she meets. It breaks my heart to see her in pain, and I am determined to do everything I can to give her the chance to live a healthy, happy life.

The surgery Daisy needs is complex and must be performed by a specialist. Without it, her condition will continue to deteriorate. I am humbly asking for your support to help cover the cost of her surgery and any associated medical expenses.

Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to saving Daisy's life. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and compassion.

With gratitude,

Emily

*hepatic shunt
a hepatic or liver shunt. “Shunts” or takes blood away from the liver. The liver helps to filter out toxins from the blood. With the decreased blood supply to the liver, the toxins are not being removed properly and are building up in her system. Causing restlessness, not responding to her name, running into things, shaking, eye twitching, nausea, pain. This is how we learned something was wrong, is she had all of these symptoms.

We went to our primary vet where she was hospitalized for a day and a half. We were then referred to K-State who did an ultrasound and CT scan to diagnose and find the hepatic shunt.
Initially we were told K-State could not do the surgery and were referred to Missouri State. Her case was reviewed by the supervising clinician who was on staff. He talked with the surgical team and K-State can do the surgery. We are waiting for a date. She has to be on medication lactulose three times a day and a special kidney diet that is low in protein, as most protein is processed in the liver. She had to be hospitalized again due to her neurological symptoms coming back. We hope she can make it to the surgery.
