Phyliss Ann Bem Funeral Expenses

Phyliss Ann Bem passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2020 at Willows Glenn Medical Center in Willows, CA. She was born on February 10th, 1929 and has been a Colusa resident for 43 years. Those who knew Phyliss, knew she was a hardworking woman all of her life. Her and her late Husband, Walter Bem Sr., married in Arkansas in 1944, owned and operated 3 restaurants and a bar such as Capital Dairy and Bem’s Drive-In in Willows then moved to Colusa where they started their first bar, BT Club, and shortly after, opening in 1978 Colusa’s famous restaurant, Bem’s Stone Arbor. After owning and running their own restaurants together for 25 years, they then mutually retired to a quiet life in Colusa.
Through retirement, Phyliss spent her years breeding Blue Diamond Doves, fostering abandoned wildlife, raising Chinchillas but most important to her, taking care of her family. What motivated her and kept her going everyday was her love and care for her cats, chinchillas and border collie, Nelly. She was known best for treasuring the time she was able to spend with her family but most specifically her grandchildren.
The passing of Phyliss, known by most of her family as Nana, has created a heartbreaking and immeasurable void for everyone who knew her as she will be dearly missed and never forgotten for the rest of our lives.
We are raising funds for her funeral and memorial expenses as payment is needed in full before services may be held and ask for the assistance of anyone who knew and loved Phyliss as much as we all did. Thankfully, being the hard working and driven woman she was, she has taken care of her burial services in full, so all thats left to do is come up with the funeral and memorial expenses so that she may finally Rest in Peace.
Funeral services and graveside burial services are still being finalized by the family and will be announced as soon as details are confirmed.
