Vote Phyllis for City Director D#2 Hot Springs, AR

I'm Phyllis Beard. I'm running for City Director of District 2 in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas (https://www.armoneyandpolitics.com/beard-files-district-2/).

I'm a Spa City native who returned home in 2016 to keep an eye on my Dad and listen to all his colorful stories of days gone by. In his heyday, my father served more than 15 years as a City Councilman in Ward 3. Today, Ward 3 has been redrawn into District 2, and the City Council has become the City Board of Directors. What has not changed are the people and their concerns.

That's where I enter.

Now, I'm usually the one who answers the phone calls from the community, helping my octogenarian father provide assistance and guidance to our fellow residents. So, I figured I might as well be of service in an official capacity. That's why I'm running for public office.

Arkansas ranks last in the nation in voter registration and voter turnout. I know we can do better than that! So I plan to run an unconventional race, riding my campaign bicycle throughout my district, registering voters, engaging residents, and explaining how the political process fails without their participation.

I'm fundraising to offset costs associated with voter registration drives, GOTV events, advertising, yard signs, campaign literature, and the fantastic staffers working tirelessly to help me get elected.
