Help Preserve WWII Heroes' Legacies
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Zach Coco. I've created a non-profit called Pictures for Heroes.
My mission is to interview and photograph as many WWII Veterans as possible. I hope to document and preserve their bravery and sacrifices for current and future generations to learn from. There are no comic books written about these men and women, however, they are real-life Super Heroes and we must show them the admiration and appreciation they deserve while we have the chance.
I have been traveling the country to meet and document as many Heroes as possible.
Donations will allow me to focus exclusively on this project. All funds will go directly to this mission, and allow me to travel state to state, Hero to Hero. The time is now and I fear we have missed too many stories already. From over 16,000,000 who served in WWII, we have roughly 500,000 remaining, with hundreds dying every day.
These are the men and women who answered the call of duty, typically at a very young age. They fought and won, against the tyranny and oppression that threatened the very freedoms we enjoy every day. They are the Greatest Generation, they are our mothers and fathers, our brothers and sisters, our grandparents, and we must honor them and let them know they are appreciated and will never be forgotten.
It is imperative that we document and preserve the lives and experiences that they have been through. We must act now.
My Grandfather was a WWII Veteran, and he is the inspiration for this project.
It wasn't until his passing, that I realized the opportunity I missed by not interviewing him. I know how much I would appreciate being able to have his story recorded, so I want to provide that for other families. Every time I conduct an interview, it feels like I get to spend another day with my grandfather, and for that, I am forever grateful.
Every Veteran that is interviewed will receive a prints of the images, and a video DVD of the interview for their family to have forever.
Please help me complete my mission.
