Dear Pie Lovers and Film Enthusiasts,

We're embarking on an exciting journey with Dennis Newman aka 'Den', the film crew caterer behind those pies that have won the hearts of many. But this journey isn't just about pies; it's about history, passion, dedication, and a dream to take a small idea to new heights! Behind every pie, there's a story waiting to be told—a story of hard work, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of perfection.

This why we would like to make a short documentary to capture Den's journey as he meticulously prepares for his debut stall pie sale at The Blue Market in South Bermondsey, right next to the 'Den' Football Stadium. The stall will be named 'The Pie Den'.

Along the way, we'll unravel the secrets of crafting the perfect pie and mash, celebrating this traditional working-class food and exploring its origins. The film aims to promote a small business (at this time of high costs and intense competition) while also providing an opportunity for people to learn about this fading London tradition.

That's where we need your help. Your generous contributions will go directly towards the production of Den's promotional film by filmmaker Eren Kaplan, known for his uplifting, community orientated films. One of his short documentaries, 'I Am West Green Road' countered the unfair media portrayal of Eren's childhood high street in Tottenham, which was named as 'London's Unhealthiest'. Funded entirely by the local shop keepers, Eren spearheaded a documentary project to challenge this narrative, not only uniting the community but also revitalising the image of the high street. www.erenkaplan.co.uk

From equipment rentals to crew salaries, every donation will help Eren assemble his talented team and create a film that does justice to Den's work. Funds will also go towards post-production costs, potential extra shooting days & even graphic design for Den’s business branding. With your support, we can ensure that Den's journey—from humble beginnings to local success—is captured with the depth, emotion, and cinematic flair it deserves.
