Pieta House and Gavin Glynn foundation

This year our Risk Assurance team in PwC Ireland are supporting two very worthwhile charities: the Gavin Glynn Foundation and Pieta House. As part of this, I'm taking part in a sponsored walk.

I'm highlighting in particular the Gavin Glynn Foundation which helps families with children battling cancer to travel overseas for treatment not available in Ireland. This cause is very close to my heart - earlier this year we lost my lovely nephew Eoghan to a rare and very agressive form of cancer. Eoghan was 16, a fantastic runner, an avid F1 and Liverpool fan and an all around fun person who had an amazing attitude to his illness during the 14 months when he was getting treatment. He lived in Bermuda and needed to travel to the US for treatment. Traveling and staying abroad for a prolonged period of time is an added challenge for any family involved. While he did not use the Gavin Glynn foundation as he came from Bermuda, his situation is similar to those Irish children who do benefit from this charity. Thankfully lots of these cases turn out with a happy ending, but even where they don't, knowing that the child got the best possible chance to beat the cancer is so important for the entire family.

I'd appreciate any support you can give to this charity, along with Pieta House which also does such valuable work for people in suicidal distress.
