Fund Piggy's Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
Sunday morning November 9th Piggy was attacked by a large 'trained to kill' German Shepard who was off leash.
While on morning walkies less than a full block from our home a German Shepard ran across the street to attack both of our dogs. Tex was the one walking Scout and Piggy this morning. The German Shepards owner, "walked slowly" across the street with little concern about the attack. Meanwhile, wittnesses tried to help untangle the dogs. Scout escaped with bite scratches. Piggy was less fortunate.
The owner of the German Shepard offered to pay for the surgery but then recanted.
Both of our dogs were being walked with leashes.
Fortunately, no humans were injured.
Piggy was actually bitten and punctured. She has an open wound the size of a half dollar where skin has been torn away on her rib cage. There is a deep puncture wound on her back leg. She is undergoing emergency surgery as I type this.
Piggy will have anesthisia, drainage tubes, pain meds, antibiotics, heart monitoring, and various other procedures to clean up the wounds and make sure there is no internal damage. The vet will know more during the surgery. She could only guess based on her observations of the wounds as they appeared.
We are now trying to cover the emergency vet costs which have been estimated by the vet to be $1000.00. We will not know the exact amount until after surgery due to possible complications or unforseen costs.
Thank you for all your support, love and concern.
May all the beings in your life be safe.
Love,
Cat
