The Pike Family vs Cancer Fund
Donation protected
On October 3rd, Daniel Pike, loving husband, father of 3 and disabled Air Force veteran, was diagnosed with invasive squamous cell carcinoma, presenting on his tongue and adjacent lymph node. He will be going into surgery on November 19th to remove the tumors, he will sacrifice over half his tongue in the process. Reconstructive surgeons will then do their best to rebuild what they can, but the truth is it will never be the same. Radiation and chemo is set follow about 6 weeks later. Recovery is going to be long and hard.
We are fortunate in many ways and have been blessed by so much kindness and generosity already, but there is still a long road ahead. His recovery will have him out of work for an unknown amount of months and his income is the one we rely on the most. Between the medical deductibles, housing for me while he is in the hospital, gas for the many trips to see his doctors (4 hours each way) and life in general the expenses are quickly adding up.
I would love to allow Daniel to recover in peace, without worry or stress over the state of our finances. He has done so much for us, he has served his country, faithfully cared for his family and many times, without question, dropped everything to help his friends. He is good man, he deserves rest now.
I wouldn't be asking if I didn't think we would need this. Every little bit helps and I hope you all know how much we love you.
Thank You
