Pineda Family - Unexpected life change

Let's show our support in this time of need. Anything you feel comfortable in giving in their time of need to help them with medical expenses and supplement income while Edwin, Kaylin and family stand by Iker's side for the battle ahead.

From Edwin and Family - Life changes in a split of a second:

Our 7 year old son, Iker, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on October 5th, 2022.

It all started with a quick trip to the ER because we noticed be had bit his cheek and had gotten worst and infected over time. We were told by the doctors at the emergency department in less than 24 hours that he had fever and his platelets were extremely low due to him having cancer. Words that no parent ever wants to hear! At this point we had spent 24 hours at the hospital. We have two other children one that is 9 and a daughter that will be turning 2 soon. We had to leave them with a family member to help take care of them while we are battling cancer with our son at the hospital.

This type of leukemia that he has is an aggressive form that quickly spreads but thankfully has a high cure rate. They started treatment immediately and he is currently receiving chemotherapy to hopefully rid his body of these cancer cells. He has a long road ahead of him but we have faith and hope that he will get better. He is a very strong, brave, loving and caring little man, it just really breaks our heart as parents to see him in a hospital bed. Iker's lungs are not strong enough to respond for themselves at this point so he is connected to a ventilator to help him breathe and keep fighting this battle. We appreciate each and every one of you all that has heard our story and has taken the time to reach out and keep our son in your prayers.
