Pink Pineapple Surf Storage Box

Pink Pineapple Surf is an all girls surf school run by GIRLS for the GIRLS. This is our 4th Summer giving surf lessons. Everyday during our Summer season twice a day we carry back and forth 16 surfboards, two tables, 20 wetsuits, 20 rash guards, 16 leashes, 3 beach Chairs, 1 10x10 pop up tent, art supplies, personal items, gift bags, giant tubes and a block rocker about 1/4 of a mile up a ramp to our beach location. It has really put a strain on the workers carrying all of this heavy equipment in 90 degree weather. Being in the water 4-7 hours a day giving surf lessons is physically exhausting enough on top of having to unload and load all of this equipment everyday. We are not by any means complaining but it has become very strenuous and put a real strain as well as injuries on a lot of our workers which depend on being able to physically perform at work in the ocean with children's lives in their hands.
We have been asking the town of Manasquan for our own storage box like the lifeguards have for the past year and a half. They finally approved it under the condition that we pay for the $2240 storage box ourselves and then donate it to the town for other business to use as well. Unfortunately this is not within our budget especially since we already have to pay the town 20% of our gross profits. This storage box is crucial to the flow of our business and our operations. We are a very small business with an 8 week window to try and make enough money to expand ourselves slowly each year in hopes of being able to reach more and more girls with our girl power mission.
Pink Pineapple is more then just a surf school. It is a place where girls can come and be empowered by other girls in a positive atmosphere that will hopefully give them confidence in many other areas of their lives. We have become a true surf and skate family with a bond that is unbreakable.
This spring we went multiple times in front of the town politicians to plead our case. Girls and woman ages 7-45 years old showed up wearing pink with signs pleading our cause. It was very touching to say the least that so many girls would come together to try and make a difference for this small little business. In the end the unthinkable happened and we got approved to give lessons yet another Summer as well as being able to put a storage box on the beach.
We have until July 12th to come up with $2240 to pay for our storage box that we have been told we can use for many Summers to come. If this wasn't so important to us we would not be asking for any money. Pink Pineapple has never been backed by anyone. The owner, Becky Burt has funded this business by the money she has made waitressing and bartending. It has slowly grown each year by the help of all the amazing instructors that have worked so hard to make Pink Pineapple what it is today. Team work makes the dream work.
Any type of donation would really mean the world to us, the world!! Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
