On September 22, 2016 heaven gained an amazing angel, Stephen J. Pinto. Stephen was a Son, Brother, Uncle, Fiancé, and Friend. Stephen passed at the tender age of 34, due to complications following a massive stroke; he fought for two days before allowing himself to rest and then passed away peacefully and without pain amongst family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved fiancée Ms. Tanya Padula, his parents Nicholas and Patricia Pinto, his siblings Michael, Nicholas, and Melissa Pinto, his sister-in-law to Melissa Pinto. Stephen was also the most amazing uncle to Nicholas, Eric, and Grace Pinto.
Stephen was born on Aug. 31, 1982, he was not only the life of the party, he was overflowing with life with every breath he took. Stephen was a proud NYC sanitation worker. He loved to play with his niece and nephews and watch hockey. He was an avid NY Rangers fan and loved to watch every game. Stephen was one of the most caring and generous people you would ever meet. It was a rare thing to see him without his contagious smile and his loyal dog, Cocoa. He was a free spirit who never wasted a moment, and truly lived his life to the fullest during his 34 years with us. In just two months Stephen was to be married to the love of his life, Tanya. Stephen has been with Dept. of Sanitation for 12 years. He’s worked in Brooklyn North 2, Staten Island 2, and his current family of Staten Island 3.
His Father Nicholas is a retired Sanitation worker out of Staten Island 1. His soon to be wife Tanya is a clerical Associate at the Richmond Borough office, and his brother Nicholas S. Pinto is a Captain in the FDNY. In the 12 years Stephen has been on DSNY, he turned co-workers and acquaintances into dear friends. The instant you met him, you befriended him forever. Stephen truly loved helping people, and given this sudden, wrenching tragedy we are asking for your help. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go towards the expenses of his Family and Fiancé. Thank you for taking the time to read this and God Bless!
