Pip Hare Ocean Racing Vendee Globe Campaign

In November 2020 I will line up with 30 International skippers to race a 60ft boat around the world, non-stop, ALONE.

The Vendee Globe race is the world's toughest yacht race, it happens once every four years and it takes skill, guts and determination just to get to the start line.

Ten Years ago I competed in my first single handed ocean race and from that moment I have been relentlessly training, racing and working my way up the sailing ladder with the ultimate goal of racing in the Vendee Globe.  In 2020 it will happen.

I have dedicated ten years of my life to gaining the skills required for racing a 60ft yacht around the world.

When the opportunity to charter Superbigou came up I knew I was physically and mentally reading for this remarkable race and so I grabbed the boat with boat hands and vowed to make it work. As with any international level sporting campaign we are working to secure corporate sponsorship to fund the main event and we are working hard to find the ideal partner.

With the boat in hand and an initial fund secured to cover commissioning and measurement our campaign is live - it’s a reality. To get to the start line I need to keep pushing forwards hard; racing, training and maintaining my boat, Superbigou, to ensure I get there this is where my crowdfund comes in.


Through my crowdfunding platform we are seeking to cover the boat running costs, allowing the campaign to gain momentum all the while becoming a more attractive proposition to our ideal corporate partner. Through personal donations we have already raised in excess of a phenomenal £25,000, which has covered allowed me to train, enter my first two races and helped fund race preparations. These donations are used to specifically cover my boats running costs, allowing me to work full time on delivering the competitive and exciting race I know I am capable of.  To keep Superbigou racing and training, and my Vendee campaign on track I need to raise £4000 per month.

I am blown away by how generous people have already been and how humbled to have such support. We are having some great conversations with corporate sponsors, but all these meetings take time and in the meantime this crowdfund is making all the difference.
