Pistachio’s Unexpected Emergency Surgery

Donation protected
Hi, I’d like to tell you all about myself and my situation. My name is Kat I’m 22 years old I currently work full time at a doggy daycare and am a grooming apprentice. I’ve had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember and it has never faded once. Over the years I’ve taken in quiet the handful of unwanted or uncared for critters including a dog, hamsters, rats, mice, bunny, and one extremely moody stray street cat which brings me to why I’m here.

I found Pistachio, a now 2/3 year old male cat, on my way home from a music festival just over a year ago. He was covered in burrs, had a pretty gnarly gash on his butt, was under weight, & living in an abandoned lot. Other people were trying to get his attention but he came to me, got some pets, & scurried away. I thought that would be all of our encounter but he followed me as I walked away and I knew I had to help him. I took him home got him cleaned up and turned him into a house cat. He hates outside now and is very happy living his days out in his cat tower, eating wet food, stepping on me at the least convenient times.
A couple days ago he started throwing up and having difficulty peeing I assumed it was a UTI and started with some over the counter treatments. Within those couple of days he declined pretty fast. He stopped eating, was barley drinking, & became lethargic. I scheduled a same day vet appointment and got the news it was not a UTI but a urinary blockage of sorts and that he would need emergency surgery right away to get him unblocked. My vet called the local emergency vet and they were able to get me in. I was originally given a quote of $2000-$3000 dollars but after the emergency vet ran blood panels the quote raised to $4,347-$5,252. I have pet insurance that covered $2000 and a credit card I was able to put $500 on. However that still leaves me with a minimum of about $2000 dollars to come up with in a very short time. I love pistachio with all my heart and the thought of losing him because I’m unable to pay this bill shatters my heart. Any and all money raised will go straight to his vet bills starting with the remaining $2000 balance. If I end up receiving over $2000 it will go towards paying off the money I used with my pet insurance and credit card. I know it’s holiday season and times are tough for many but if you have anything at all to spare I ask that you consider donating to Pistachio so we can be together for Christmas and the next many years to come. Below I’ll add some pictures of the bills I’ve paid already, the estimation, & bonus pics of Pistachio. Thank you for your time and consideration.
