Pistol Pete Movie: A feature film on Pete Maravich

Hello, my name is Drew Tewell. In March of 2014 I began developing a movie about the life of Pete Maravich. I started doing research, wrote an outline and eventually started writing a screenplay. Then later that year in October I moved from Columbus, Ohio to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to work in the film industry.

I started out as an intern, then worked as a production assistant and finally as a script supervisor on over 30 different movies and television shows since moving to Louisiana.

In 2021 I started working on We Were Fans, a new short documentary on Pistol Pete featuring Maravich author John Musemeche.

On October 13th, 2023 We Were Fans premiered at the Manship Theatre in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Now it’s time to move on to finishing the movie! By the way, you can watch We Were Fans for free by clicking on the video above.

Our Funding Goal

Our current goal is to raise another $50,000 so I can begin working on the next steps to making the feature film on Pistol Pete, included but not limited to setting up a company and getting everything ready to start raising more funds from investors.
