Hi, my name is Jenny Rubino (Rot) and I created this Go Fund Me to help an AMAZING family that has had an impact on my life and many others throughout the years. With Bill and Patty's network of friends and family stretching far and wide across this country, I wanted to create this to show them how much they are loved and supported by those they have touched. They have created a strong and mighty army with the path their lives have led them down. This is just one small way we can give back to a family that gave many so much to so many.

As some of you know, Bill has had quite the year. Bill was recently diagnosed with sarcoma which likely has been there for some time. Bill will be undergoing surgery on 3/3/23. Because the tumor is enmeshed with several ribs, his surgical team will have to remove parts of several ribs along with the tumor. The tumor is also close to the spine and sympathetic chain of nerves, the team believes the sarcoma may have already affected some of those nerves. The surgical team will be cutting through muscle and ribs to excise the tumor, so rehabilitation will be painful and take a long time. They will implant brachial catheters inside his chest and will do 5 days of radiation treatments in the hospital immediately following surgery to reduce the risk of it coming back. We were told sarcomas are known to return to the place they were before.

The surgeon is anticipating that Bill will be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks, and recovering for another 8-12 weeks. First week for radiation, then to manage the pain and begin rehab.

He may have to place a mesh structure in place of the removed portion of ribs to provide stability for his chest and posture.

Due to the nearness to the spine and nerves, Bill may likely have chronic pain even after he’s fully healed.
