Above: Pizzeria Paradiso’s Executive Kitchen Manager, Carlos Gonzalez; and Founder and Chef, Ruth Gresser, speak to the Paradiso family about the difficult changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
_______________
On March 16, 2020, in response to the unprecedented threat of COVID-19, Pizzeria Paradiso was forced to drastically restructure and lay off more than 150 employees.
Part of what has always made Pizzeria Paradiso special is that our founder, Chef Ruth Gresser, has created an atmosphere of care, love and respect in each location – and in the organization as a whole. The trickledown effect is what makes Pizzeria Paradiso the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that our customers appreciate so much. We are more than servers, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers and support staff. We are family. You have only to look at our restaurant reviews to see how this is evident to our community.
One of the hardest parts of this current situation is that because the vast majority of our family is currently without employment we cannot be there financially for the other members of our family. Some of us have been asked by friends, family and customers what they can do to help in this difficult time. So we have decided to start this campaign.
All donations will be administered by a group of Pizzeria Paradiso employees to support those of our compadres who need it the most.
Thank you for helping. Thank you for thinking of us, and thank you for helping us spread the word. We look forward to seeing and serving you again!
Stay home. Stay safe. And remember to eat your pizza and drink your beer!
With Love,
The Pizzeria Paradiso Family
