PJ Berg's Treatment Expenses
Donation protected
Many of you here in Eagle County and beyond have had the pleasure, like my family has, of getting to know PJ Berg and her family. If you know PJ, you know she is the individual that has completely immersed herself into our community since she and her family moved to Eagle Ranch over 16 years ago. She has been involved with every aspect of our community from the local schools, sporting events, private parties, many fundraising events including Pink Vail, St. Baldricks to name a few, and she was the face of the Dusty Boot for over 10 years. PJ has always been a bright positive light to so many people especially when they really needed it.
Earlier this year PJ was diagnosed with cancer and has undergone 12 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. PJ’s strength and tenacity helped her through the treatment. Knowing that she could no longer continue with her job as the Food & Beverage Manager at Frost Creek, she optimistically accepted a new employment position as a property manager. She was excited to start her new job the day after Labor Day.
Unfortunately, the night before PJ reported to work, a condition known as NAION attacked her right eye. This condition causes partial blindness. She already had this affliction in her left eye but was able to adjust and concur it. Having this condition set into both eyes has made it essentially impossible for PJ to work.
With her cancer treatments complete and her scans scheduled, PJ is now permanently challenged with the partial loss of her eyesight. The doctors say there is no cure for this disease. PJ has researched this condition, and she has been reaching out to other alternative practitioners. The costs of these treatments are not covered by PJ’s medical insurance.
Many of you have asked PJ how you can help…I am reaching out to the amazing people in this community and beyond to let you know how you can help. Your donation to PJ’s Go Fund Me account will help take away PJ's anxiety of not being able to pay for her treatments. PJ can focus solely on healing and experiencing the joy in her life! PJ is so very grateful for the love and support she has received from this wonderful community.
