We lost one of our own this morning, Ms. Barbara Torres
Barbara was tough, loud and passionate. If she was in your corner you knew you had a fighting chance and if she wasn’t you knew you automatically had a challenge to overcome.
She loved her friends and family and was always spending time with her nieces spoiling them and giving them everything she had.
She was an advocate for her community and was not afraid to demand equal justice and resources for East LA.
On her FB post she often used the line “I’m just a girl from East LA”. Well Barbara Torres you were not just a girl you were a warrior from East LA and you will be greatly missed by your family, friends and community.
We are raising funds to help the Torres family with funeral costs. Every little bit matters. Barbara made a big difference in a lot of our lives. Let us continue Barbara's legacy and fight for what we believe and especially East LA.
