Life Saving Surgery for Tina Chapa
Donation protected
In November of 2019, Tina was living her life as usual, albeit with the symptoms of a slight cold. Tina, dedicated as she is, fought to maintain her normal lifestyle until it became clear something more dangerous was at hand. A trip to the doctor to check for the flu was quickly followed by a stay in the emergency room, where Tina received the life changing diagnosis of End-Stage Liver Disease. After months of various experts and hospital visits, Tina was finally listed as a priority on the transplant list and received her second chance at life on March 17, 2020.
Tina is a much beloved member of her communities, both as a diligent worker at NXP and a loving aunt, sister, and daughter. We are extremely blessed that her light will continue to shine after her successful transplant surgery, but her long road to recovery has only just begun.
If you’re unable to contribute a monetary donation at this time, we appreciate you taking the time to read Tina’s story and request positive thoughts and prayers as she recovers. The greatest gift someone can receive is the gift of life, and we’re very grateful to Tina’s donor and the entire transplant team, nurses, techs, and staff at University Hospital in San Antonio . Please check out these links if you’d like to learn more about Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, organ donor registration, or the living donor process.
Sincerely,
The proud family of Tina Chapa
