Reilly's Eagle Project

My Name is Reilly McCullough and I am fundraising to raise money for my Eagle Scout Project.

I am Junior at Plymouth South High School. I have been a member of Boy Scout Troop 51 since I was in 5th grade. I also was a member of Pack 51 Cub Scouts for 4 years prior in elementary school, starting in 1st grade.

I have most recently achieved the rank of Life Scout which is one rank away from Eagle Scout. I am currently working on my Eagle Scout project which is to add lighting to the flag poles that are displayed in front of St Bonaventure Church in Manomet and also to refurbish the decking that surrounds the parish koi pond on the parish campus. I chose these projects because they will benefit both the church and the community.

Under the United States Flag code, the United States Flag should be illuminated if it is to remain up after dusk. Currently, the three flags displayed in front of the church … the Catholic Church flag, the Archdiocese of Massachusetts flag and the United States flag do not have the appropriate lighting for display after dusk.

Additionally, St Bonaventure’s parish maintains many acres of campus land behind the church building. There are quite a few walking paths and meditation spots through the campus, one of which is the koi pond that has an observation platform to allow parishioners to sit and view the many fish that live in the pond. My project will include refurbishment of the decking and supporting rails around the deck. I will replace any rotted wood as well as stain any new railings and decking.

This is an ambitious project and I am hoping to receive your support. The cost to complete the project is $7000.00 of which I am hoping to raise at least $4000.00. Any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated.
