Todd Morgan's Recovery

Donation protected
By now you may be aware that Todd & Greta Morgan have been hit hard by "life." Todd had been primary care giver for his Mom, Georgia, trying to keep her at home and as comfortable as possible. Thanksgiving weekend, Todd was enroute to buy supplies for his mother and his motorcycle was hit by a van crossing into his lane on the freeway. He has been hospitalized since Nov 25th - with a broken pelvis (5 places) also internal bleeding, cracked coccyx, broken right shoulder blade, torn bicep & labrum tear, & road rash.  We are thankful it wasn't worse - and that he is alive!  After 2+ weeks in the hospital, he is still in a lot of pain and is just now using a walker.  A full recovery is expected, but it will take a long time.  He will soon be transitioning to a hospital bed at home.

The very next day after the accident, Sunday, November 26th, his ailing mom died in her sleep.  She was never aware that Todd had been in a crash, and everyone is grateful for that.  Greta & Todd's sister Sally were with Georgia when she passed, and on Tuesday, December 5th, Georgia was laid to rest at Glen Abbey, while her son Todd remained in the hospital, a rough day for all of them.

Greta has had her hands full - to say the least.  With all the distractions and concerns, working has been limited at best for her, too.  Donna & I lived across the street from Greta when her first husband Dale died suddenly, and knew her even years before that during college days in Bellingham.  Our daughter Crystal babysat their daughter Vanessa - nearly 25 years ago!  To see Greta and Todd go through another trauma like this is heartbreaking.  We thank God that Todd is alive, and both Greta and Todd have a strong faith - but they have a long, long recovery ahead for him.  In the spirit of "many hands make work light," we have set up a GFM account on their behalf - any large or small contribution to get them through this next year would be extremely helpful, allowing them to grieve the loss of Todd's mom and their old life - and transition to a "new normal," a new season of life.  Greta will be updating us further on Todd's condition. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated and will be sent directly to them for living expenses, mounting debt, and loss of income these next few months
