In Loving Memory of Cody – A Heartfelt Plea from His Brother, Jason
Hello, everyone. My name is Jason Vaughn, and I’m writing on behalf of my parents, Anna and Lewis Vaughn, as we struggle with the sudden and unimaginable loss of my brother, Cody. He was taken from us far too soon in a devastating, preventable accident: rear-ended at high speed by an inattentive driver, then pushed into an intersection where oncoming traffic struck him once again. Cody was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other drivers escaped with minimal injuries.
Cody was not only a devoted son and a beloved brother—he was also a compassionate friend and active community member. He had a heart for animals like no one else I’ve ever known. As a trusted pet sitter, he cared for countless neighborhood pets, and he worked tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need. Cody established a small but dedicated pet rescue effort in our community, which he funded and operated on his own, determined to make a difference in the lives of stray and abandoned animals.
Now, our family is reeling from this tragedy and facing immense uncertainty. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing, and the insurance process has been slow and cumbersome. Our parents, Anna and Lewis, are left to shoulder the burden of funeral expenses, medical bills, and potential legal fees—all while mourning Cody’s loss.
What Your Donation Will Help With:
- Funeral costs
- Potential legal fees and ongoing investigative expenses
- Potential car replacement, as the car Cody was driving will be a total loss
- Relief from the financial uncertainty caused by delayed or denied insurance payouts
We appreciate any donation you can make—no matter how small—to help ease this financial burden. Your generosity will allow our family to grieve without the overwhelming pressure of these unexpected expenses. If you can't donate at this time, please consider sharing Cody’s story to help us reach others who may wish to lend a hand.
On behalf of my parents, Anna and Lewis, I want to express our deepest gratitude for your support, your prayers, and your kindness during this heartbreaking time. Cody’s memory will live on not just in our hearts, but in every life he touched—human and animal alike. Together, we can honor his love for animals, his generous spirit, and the brightness he brought to our lives. Thank you for helping us carry on Cody’s legacy.
