Hello, everyone. My name is Jason Vaughn, and I’m writing on behalf of my parents, Anna and Lewis Vaughn, as we struggle with the sudden and unimaginable loss of my brother, Cody. He was taken from us far too soon in a devastating, preventable accident: rear-ended at high speed by an inattentive driver, then pushed into an intersection where oncoming traffic struck him once again. Cody was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other drivers escaped with minimal injuries.

As a trusted pet sitter, he cared for countless neighborhood pets, and he worked tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need. Cody established a small but dedicated pet rescue effort in our community, which he funded and operated on his own, determined to make a difference in the lives of stray and abandoned animals.

Now, our family is reeling from this tragedy and facing immense uncertainty. The investigation into the accident is still ongoing, and the insurance process has been slow and cumbersome.
