PLANT A TREE, IMPROVE LIVES, SECURE THE FUTURE

Ogechukwu Okolo is organizing this crowdfunding campaign on behalf of ABOR NWUNEKAIHE ENVIRONMENTAL AND BEAUTIFICATION team.

Abor Nwunekaihe Development Foundation (ANKDF) is a non-profit organization in Abor, Nigeria that was established with the goal of improving the Infrastructural, Socio-Economic, and Cultural developments of our hometown, Abor of which environmental development and beautification are inevitable icing on the cake. In serving Abor community, ANKDF through fundraising events, contributions, private donations and sponsorships has coordinated and executed projects that support Youth and Women empowerment through Education, Entrepreneurship and Health; Sports and Culture, Security, Legal/conflict Resolution all towards the upliftment and development of Abor.

ANKDF recognizes the importance of planting trees and reduction of our carbon footprints. And how this will also support our community’s economic and mental well-being by bringing our people together through nature, and leaving a legacy for our future generation. We aim to create greener landscape in Abor through planting trees that will not only provide jobs and training for our rural community to grow food and generate their income, but also promote health; foster beautification and appreciation for nature in the community; and reduce the high carbon emissions in our town.

To start, this project will plant seedlings comprising ornamental and economic trees, shrubs, and flowers in public places and on our trunk "A" roads.

We are raising $13,000 to buy and plant approximately 7,400 trees for this project. We need to plant these seedlings before the rainy season starts in earnest otherwise, we will have to wait another year which is a year of lost income, food and job security.
