Plant native trees for Tanzania's future

Help plant 2000 trees and train 100 farmers in Morogoro, Tanzania!
Hi, I’m Aron Katosho, founder of the NGO Dreamnature. I graduated in Forestry and am actively involved in ongoing reforestation projects.
Growing up in Itaba village, I saw the destructive effects of deforestation and poverty: farmers cut down trees for firewood and clear forested land for crops. However, without the protective cover of trees, soil productivity drops quickly, forcing farmers to clear even more forest. This cycle of deforestation traps them in poverty, contributes to biodiversity loss and to climate change.
But there is a solution, syntropic agroforestry: a sustainable farming practice that integrates different trees with crops on the same plot of land, benefitting both communities and the environment: it enriches the soil, holds water in the ground, captures CO2, boosts biodiversity AND is more productive than monoculture!
A growing agroforestry plot I helped creating
Then I also had an innovative idea, growing native trees. We identified some native tree species that, despite being valued for their fruits, nuts, and medicinal uses, remain underutilized. Few native trees are planted, most only grow naturally in the wild. Restoration efforts often rely on exotic species, threatening biodiversity.
Our goal is to establish agroforestry systems centered on these native species, unlocking their full economic potential while preserving biodiversity. We aim to cultivate what is already part of the local ecosystem and can offer completely new products to the market. To achieve this, we will train farmers to manage these systems effectively, enabling them to expand agroforestry practices to more plots and create sustainable livelihoods. We've chosen a location to get started in the Morogoro region, where we have already been involved in reforestation schemes.
help us today:
With € 10 we will plant 4 native trees
With € 50 we will plant 20 trees and train 1 farmer
Thanks for helping us create a more prosperous and sustainable rural Tanzania.
