PLANT SCHOOL: BIPOC Scholarship Fund

Donation protected
Plant School is a course for Black, Indigenous, and racialized Peoples from May-October in Guelph, Ontario {dish with many spoons}. Students will learn hands-on skills related to herbal medicine rooted in the principles of self-determination, liberation, and reciprocity.

As one of the only programs of its kind in the region, we work hard to ensure its accessibility. Our goal is to remove barriers to communities that have long had their knowledge and land-based practices impacted by colonialism and forced displacement.

This year, we received more scholarship applications than we can offer out of pocket. We are seeking donations to welcome 15 Black, Indigenous, and forcibly displaced SWANA students into the program.

Each dollar covers the basic costs of welcoming students into the program.

Program participants will learn about medicine making, making herbal preparations to take home, practicing harvesting, seed saving, and plant identification while sharing about and continuing legacies of resistance and stewardship.
