Planting trees to help reverse climate change

Trees have a massive part to play in the fight against climate change…
For some time. We’ve thought long & hard how a small business like ours could influence climate change in a positive way.
We don’t make loads of profit & the little we do, goes straight back into the business to improve our team, service & technology solutions.
Making us struggle to see a small business like ours making a difference in the fight against climate change.
But seeing recent pictures of forests in the Amazon, California & Australia on fire stirred something within us.
First it was anger, followed by frustration & finally disappointment.
But then it struck...
Trees are the answer. Trees suck carbon dioxide out of the air & if we plant enough trees our theory is, it will have a massive impact in the fight against climate change.
After doing more research. The theory is backed up by scientists in this Guardian article …
They say. Planting billions of trees across the world is by far the biggest & cheapest way to tackle the climate crisis. As trees grow, they absorb and store the carbon dioxide emissions that are driving global heating.
New research by these scientists estimate a worldwide tree planting program could remove two-thirds of all the emissions that have been pumped into the atmosphere by human activities.
A figure the scientists describe as “mind-blowing”.
BBC presenter & epic adventurer Simon Reeves agrees too.
In his new series ‘The Americas ’.
Simon met David Milarch & his team from the Archangel Ancient Tree Archive. Who are working towards a vision of replanting the earth with genetics of the world’s remaining ancient forests.
The Giant Redwood (or Titan) is at the centre of this vision & Archangel are focused on the reforestation of the Redwood Titan (the tallest & widest trees in the world) to reverse the effects of climate change.
So. That’s what we are going to do. Plant some trees…
We’re not going to do it alone. Our customers are going to help too.
In it’s simplest term…
For every new print technology solution agreed, we’ll plant a tree for that person or organisation & provide each with a certificate to show when & where it was planted.
For those that don’t know…
I'm Darren Turner , owner of small business called MY Total Office Solutions , who specialise in printer & photocopier technology solutions.
And all our team are passionate about the environment & want to do something to fight climate change.
But we need your help...
To plant 1,000's of trees you need a lot of land.
And after a plea for help across social media, a piece of land on the moors in Bacup (Lancashire) has been donated.
We've found out thought, you can't plant trees in an open field as the wildlife (deer etc) has full access & will simply eat them.
Which means the land has to be fenced off, if the trees are going to have an impact on climate change.
Fencing a large piece of land doesn't come cheap. It's £3,500. Which is way to much money for us.
We've only got enough cash to buy the trees & planting accessories. We'll even be doing the planting ourselves to make the project affordable.
To make the project a reality we're looking to the good nature of the great British people & any others from all over world. Who'd like to help us put climate change into reverse.
All we're asking...
Is for 3,500 people to donate £1 each.
To get the land fenced, giving the trees protection against local wildlife.
