Fight for My Life

Hi friends, I hope you're having a good day so far. I'm reaching out to you because  I wanted to share my story with you.  My name is Gregory Williams–most of my friends know me as Plat, or Platinum. I was born and raised in the Bahamas, and currently living in Chicago, IL with my beautiful wife and daughter. On July 15th, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 High Grade Chondroblastic Osteosarcoma–a very rare form of cancer found in adults. This Cancer was found in my maxilla causing my five front teeth to be misplaced due to the growth of the tumor in my jawbone. Over the course of the next year, I will be undergoing a rigorous course of treatment, beginning with six month of pre-surgery chemotherapy every other two to three weeks. During this pre-surgery time, I am also required to do Oxygen and Calcium drip treatments twice per week. The second part of my treatment includes a major graft reconstruction surgery, in which a large portion of my jawbone where the tumor is located will be removed and replaced with a part of my fibula bone and tissues. Finally, after the surgery is complete, I will have about one month of recovery time before starting my final stages of chemotherapy in addition to the Oxygen and Calcium drip treatments. As you can imagine, my body will be undergoing significant impacts of these treatments, but I believe that through this, the Lord will bring healing to my body and rid it of this cancer, and that he will use this journey as a testament of His faithfulness for others. Being born in the Bahamas, many of the amenities like full-coverage insurance are not at my convenience and most of my costs will paid out of pocket. As my community, I am asking for your support to help me as I go through this journey. My goal is to raise $50,000 that will go directly to helping with my medical treatment and recovery costs.
