Play Frontier is a nature and play-based child care and preschool based in Carson, Washington in the Columbia Gorge and is currently the only child care center in Skamania County. It is the mission and purpose at Play Frontier to conserve childhood through acceptance, education and empowerment of children and families.
During the day children spend lots of time in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, get three healthy meals a day free of charge, and are cared for by loving and supportive teachers. Play Frontier provides the essential service to the community of supporting families and helping foster their children’s healthy development through relationships -- with loving caregivers, with their peers, with their sense of imagination and play, and with the natural environment all around us. PLAY FRONTIER NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Please consider a contribution for the purchase of a Washer and Dryer (with warranty!) to be installed in the facility.
Play Frontier operates as a non-profit organization and with the unprecedented year we have had, including weeks of closures/loss of tuition, funds are very limited. Safety and cleanliness measures have been vastly expanded to keep the kiddos and caretakers safe, and this includes A LOT OF LAUNDRY! Laundry is currently being sent offsite as the facility is without a washer and dryer.
-A washer and dryer onsite would be an incredible resource to save time and money
-Teachers are currently helping by taking laundry home, and we want them to relax at the end of the day
-With the current rules due to Covid the kiddos cannot have comfort items like stuffed animals and pillows until we have laundry onsite
-Rainy season is coming and Play Frontier adventures often lead to wet and muddy clothes! Dry mittens and socks between daily hikes, yes please!
