Dear Pleasant Valley Neighbors:
As residents and homeowners of Pleasant Valley, we have all come to appreciate our fantastic neighborhood, our beautifully landscaped yards, our quiet community and our most valuable amenity, the Pleasant Valley Recreation Association (PVRA) pool. Having all of this in a community WITHOUT a Homeowners Association (HOA) is quite remarkable!
Unfortunately, PVRA has suffered a number of setbacks this year and is in dire financial straits, facing a financial shortfall that could effectively force closure of the pool facilities before the end of the summer swim season.
A permanent closing of our pool will affect every one of our home values in a negative way and could cost each of us an estimated 5% – 8% of our current home value. This translates into $20,000 to $40,000 per home, when we decide to sell.
PVRA supports the Pleasant Valley neighborhood as a whole, not just its members. We host the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Fall Festival. We open our doors for movie nights in the summer and fire pit nights throughout the year. This year we plan to host a National Night Out event together with a Blood Mobile. In order to continue to operate and to offer these benefits to the community, we NEED your support.
Funds raised through this site will be put towards necessary repairs at our facility - leak detection work, pool tile repairs, new furniture on the pool deck, repairs to the parking lot, etc. We have a long wish-list of repairs and purchases that we want to make in order to enhance the facility for everybody in the neighborhood.
